Houston City Parks and Urban Greenspace
A warm climate and an abundance of refreshing green space provide opportunities for recreation in
parks and neighborhoods throughout Houston. Greenways along the bayous provide conduits for outdoor sports. Native live oaks and tall pine trees provide shade during the hot summer and offer a tranquil respite from busy city life. The City of Houston has made progress improving air quality and reducing pollution, ozone and controlling vehicle emissions.
